BISim COVID-19 Impact - Report to Customers

Mar 19, 2020

The impact of COVID-19 is being felt all over the world. BISim would like to reassure our customers and partners that all interactions with BISim will be robust and fully operational, other than face-to-face meetings. Specifically, the BISim software support and professional services team is able to answer all relevant support tickets, all active development projects are expected to deliver on schedule (other than delays where face-to-face interaction is unavoidable) and even product demonstrations and product briefings will remain available (albeit remotely as opposed to in person).

As of Friday, 99% of BISim staff will be capable of effective home working, with around 5% of staff voluntarily continuing to work from our various offices. The transition is now complete and we have assessed that both the transition and the ongoing home working should have a very limited impact on our ability to continue to serve customers fully.

In addition, BISim is implementing a number of measures to ease customer and partner restrictions on use of BISim technology by other parties whilst home working and to facilitate customers to operate as close as possible to ‘business-as-usual’. These measures include:

  • issuing of temporary 90-day licenses for home working customer staff (for further information, please contact support@bisimulations.com); and
  • dial-in to remote demonstrations and product briefings rather than face-to-face demos

As we speak to more customers, we will be implementing other measures to continue to keep our customers’ business activities moving forward.

One ‘SAVE THE DATE’ notice - we note that IT²EC 2020 (28-30 April) has been postponed. BISim will be hosting a set of briefings, live demonstrations (with remote dial-in) and customer meetings on these dates and we encourage all customers who would have been meeting with us to contact their local BISim business developer to schedule a remote meeting. There will be demonstrations of our latest release of VBS4, release 20.1, as well as many of the usual demonstrations you would expect from BISim and briefings on the first uses of VBS4 for actual training. We will attempt to replicate the ITEC experience online but we apologise that Czech beer is not able to be served online.

We send best wishes to all our customers and partners as they navigate through the unprecedented restrictions COVID-19 is placing on our society. We encourage all to communicate to us any restrictions which we may be able to help with.

About Bohemia Interactive Simulations

Founded in 2001, Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) is a global software company at the forefront of simulation and training solutions for defense and civilian organizations. BISim utilizes the latest game-based technology and a 200-strong, in-house team of engineers to develop high-fidelity, cost-effective training and simulation software products and components for defense applications.

Globally, more than 500,000 military personnel are trained every year using VBS software. More than 50 NATO and NATO-friendly countries and over 250 integrators/prime contractors use VBS technology, many making significant funding commitments to extend VBS product capabilities. Customers include the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, Australian Defence Force, Swedish Armed Forces, French MoD and UK MoD and most major integrators. VBS products have become, by far, the world’s most widely used COTS product range in the military-simulation sector, supporting hundreds of military use cases and vastly greater military exploitation than any comparable products.
