VBS4 - Whole-Earth Virtual Desktop Training & Simulation Host

What is VBS4?

VBS4 is our flagship virtual training and simulation platform, designed to immerse users in a whole-earth environment that’s as versatile as it is realistic. Whether for individual, collective, or joint-force training, VBS4 allows users to simulate missions with high fidelity, using real-world terrain and robust AI to create realistic, customizable scenarios. This fully scalable solution brings powerful simulation capabilities to the desktop, allowing trainees to navigate diverse environments and practice complex operations, from tactical engagements to large-scale logistical planning, all within a unified, adaptable framework.

What is demonstrated?

This year’s updates to VBS4 bring trainees closer to real-world operational readiness than ever before. From simulating complex battlefield scenarios—like nuclear and long-range rocket threats—to introducing high-fidelity vehicle training with models like the NZ LAV III, VBS4 now offers an unprecedented level of realism and immersion. New updates to AI and drone simulation make it easier to design scenarios that prepare users for today’s evolving combat environments, while a refreshed HUD system allows for more intuitive, mission-specific customizations. These features ensure that VBS4 remains a vital tool for training teams to handle both current and emerging mission challenges with confidence.

Mantle - Customized Terrain Pipeline for Simulation and Training

What is Mantle?

Mantle is BISim’s high-performance terrain platform, designed to deliver detailed, realistic landscapes for mission-ready training and simulation. With Mantle, users can generate and customize vast, accurate terrains to support everything from tactical maneuvers to strategic planning, all while integrating seamlessly into existing simulation environments. This scalable, cloud-enabled platform enables teams to rapidly produce terrain on demand, ensuring that training scenarios reflect the real-world environments trainees are likely to encounter in the field.

What is demonstrated?

Experience Mantle’s terrain generation and management tools in action with live demos that show how easy it is to create and customize realistic terrains. For the first time at IITSEC 2024, visitors will be able to witness the new ability from Mantle to generate correlated Unreal Engine optimized assets from VBS content allowing the creation of interoperable applications. Other demos will highlight VBS Geo terrain editing for on-the-fly adjustments, seamless drone mesh imports, and multi-format streaming and export options. Using top-tier mapping data and BISim’s extensive content library, Mantle enables users to produce ready-to-train terrains that can be further customized with user-specific data. Whether streaming to VBS4 or exporting to other platforms, Mantle offers flexible terrain solutions for diverse training systems and environments.

Blue IG - High-Fidelity Image Generation for Immersive Training

What is Blue IG?

Blue IG is our advanced image generation platform, designed to deliver high-fidelity visuals and realistic environmental effects that enhance immersion in training scenarios. With Blue IG, users experience dynamic, true-to-life visuals that can be customized to match specific mission requirements, from diverse weather and lighting conditions to intricate terrain and urban landscapes. Built for seamless integration into simulation environments, Blue IG provides the visual power needed to support large-scale, high-detail scenarios, bringing training exercises closer to real-world conditions.

What is demonstrated?

Visit the Amphitheatre to experience Blue IG’s capabilities through an immersive dual-projector dome setup, provided by Immersive Display Solutions Inc. (IDSI), that brings high-speed flight, naval, low-altitude rotary, and ground scenarios to life in dual-4K clarity. Additional desktop stations will showcase key Blue IG tools, including the CIGI Test Host, CIGI Router, and pre-made playbacks, each demonstrating unique features. These demos highlight the visual power and flexibility of Blue IG, showing how it elevates realism and immersion across diverse training scenarios.

Kongsberg will showcase the CORE™ Training Simulator, which enables highly realistic simulated training while operating the PROTECTOR weapon systems. CORE™ uses VBS4 for scenario generation and as a synthetic environment.

Who are we?

Pitch Technologies specializes in interoperability and distributed simulation, enabling seamless integration across complex training systems. Pitch empowers defense organizations to conduct large-scale, joint-force training exercises with real-time connectivity and collaboration.

What’s demonstrated?

Pitch will demonstrate how VBS4’s advanced interoperability features enable seamless integration into large, joint training environments across national and security domains. This year’s demo highlights new capabilities, such as cyber-attack simulations with CYBER-FOM and LVC integration with C2 systems via NETN-FOM, expanding the range of cross-domain training scenarios VBS4 can support.

Known for their innovative approach to military training, Rheinmetall provides comprehensive solutions that enhance operational effectiveness across diverse combat environments.

What’s demonstrated?

Experience Rheinmetall’s high-fidelity Puma IFV simulation, featuring seamless integration with HUMS, Gunnery Report, and Rheinmetall TacNet® BMS. The Puma Training Simulator uses VBS4 for scenario generation and as a synthetic environment.

SEI

Who are we?

Systems Engineering, Inc. (SEI) specializes in artificial intelligence and system integration, focusing on advanced training solutions for defense. SEI’s expertise connects tactical tools with simulation platforms, enabling realistic, scalable training for communication and coordination demands in modern combat.

What’s demonstrated?

SEI will showcase its integration of VBS4 with the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), enabling cost-effective, multi-echelon training in realistic, geospecific environments. Who are we?
